Many women took part in the war. Many of these women were very brave during the war. A couple of these women were Betsy Ross, Deborah Sampson and Elizabeth Zane. The revolutionary war took place in 1775 in the thirteen colonies. They joined the war to help and serve their country. They also joined because men joined and then the women were left to do their work so they joined instead. How did they do it? They had bravery and courage.
There has been amazing acts made by brave women. Some of these women are Deborah Sampson, Betsy Ross, and Elizabeth Zane. Deborah Sampson dressed up as a man and joined the war to help out. Then she was discharged for a wounded leg. Betsy Ross is currently working on another flag for us to use in the war, and she is also making articles of clothing for the soldiers. She currently said “ Today the American knight holds the commercial supremacy of the world.” Betsy Ross. Elizabeth Zane ran to her brothers cottage to get some gun powder. These women have done amazing acts and are still trying their best to help out.
This is making remarkable history by the date of 1776. It is all happening right here in the thirteen colonies. A little bit about these courageous women and where they were from. Betsy Ross was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Elizabeth Zane was born in Berkley county. And Deborah Sampson was born on December 17 in Plympton, Massachusetts. These women are doing so much hard work they should be honored.
The reasons why these women are joining the war are because their husbands joined and they were left with their work to do like take care of animals or farm. They did not take no as an option so that’s why they joined instead of doing other work. They also joined the war to help out, but some did not have to join the war they could just help out by making articles of clothing like Betsy Ross. Captain John Parker said “ Don’t fire unless fired upon but if they need to have war let it begin here! ” And how they did it a lot of hard work, courage, bravery, and experience.
We thank the Women who took part in the war or helped out whether it was a little or a lot. All women should be proud of their hard work and effort. And we hope this has made an impact in history and has been a great experience for those who did go into war. We thank them.
